Positive
Economic Indicators…from the TRENCHES
DALLAS,
Texas
– A recent poll of several hundred
client-facing executives (sales and
executive management) reveals positive
news…with a strong dose of optimism.
Feedback from these executives, hailing from IT services &
product firms, large and small, is upbeat:
-
58% report sales being “up” over the
last six months. 71%
said revenues have been “flat” or “up”,
and only 28% report sales being “down”.
-
Similarly, 58% expect sales to go “up”
in the next six months and 75% project
“flat” or “up”. Several respondents
stated that pipelines are “very strong”
and “very large”.
-
8% predict sales will be “up” in 2010,
and 91% anticipate they will be “flat”
or “up”.
-
In contrast, 58% describe their
organizations as being in a
“conservative” or “retrenching” mode,
with only 42% currently investing in
growth.
-
50% of responding companies initiated a
recent reduction-in-force; however, only
41% had RIF’s in their sales
organizations.
In conclusion, according to this survey,
indications are that:
-
Optimism is high.
-
Contrary to general impressions, many if
not most organizations have experienced
increased revenues with no recent
decline in sales.
-
Strong pipelines reflect plenty of
“pent-up demand”.
-
A steady and tangible upturn is
anticipated in the near future.
